I am majoring in public service and public policy and could not be happier with the road I chose. I grew up in a family where service to others was just what we did. My parents served in prisons as counselors for 12 years, were foster parents for 4 years and visited countless orphanages to bring hope to children through the word of God.

I remember growing up saying I was going to change the world. Luckily I still believe I will. I am not going to change the word by making lots of money but my helping those in need. I know it is my duty and calling to serve others. I do not know to what capacity yet but I will. 

It was hard to find passion in my work in the amusement industry. I was working in an industry that focused on making money at the amusement of others. Yes service is involved but not significant service. The service I provided was more transactional than transformational. I want to work somewhere where my influence can be life changing or life saving.
